Q: What is your Operation Schedule?
A: We are open for the 2013 season on April 12th and close November 3th.
Q: How much of a deposit is required when I make my reservation?
A: Lake Raystown Resort has a full pre-payment policy at the time of reservation. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. You may also send a money order or Cashier's Check. Sorry, but we do not accept personal checks.
Q: What is the accommodation cancellation policy?
A: If you cancel more than 90 days prior to your scheduled arrival an 80% refund is offered. Cancellations received between 89-31 days prior to you scheduled arrival will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to arrival no refund will be given.
Q: How many people are permitted to stay at my campsite, cabin or lodge room?
A: Campsite: 6 persons max
All Pine Cabins: 6 persons max
Maple Cabins: 6 persons max
Oak Park Cottages: 7 persons max
Beachfront Bungalows: 6 persons max
Lakeside Villas: 6 persons max
Lodge Rooms: 6 persons max
Lodge Suites: 4 persons max
Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: Pets are welcome in the campground as long as they are monitored, cleaned up after, and kept on a leash.
Pets are not permitted inside or around the cabins, cottages, bungalows, villas, lodge rooms or houseboats. We do not permit pets to be tied or kenneled on the porch or left in vehicles or boats. Guests with pets inside or in the area surrounding their cabins, cottages, bungalows, villas, lodge rooms or houseboats will be evicted without further notice or refund.
Q: Is there a kennel nearby?
A: Yes, BMC Kennels in Huntingdon is about 20 minutes away. Please contact them directly at (814) 643-1499.
Q: Can I arrive earlier than my scheduled check-in time?
A: Guests can arrive at any time throughout the day but guests’ belongings cannot be placed on the porch or inside of their cabin, campsite, or lodge room. Keys to overnight accomodations will not be distributed until the designated check-in time.
Q: What cell phone carriers have reception at the Resort?
A: AT&T/Cingular and Sprint/Nextel are the only carriers that provide service in the Raystown Lake area. There is not a Verizon cellular tower in the area and Verizon service is intermittant.
Q: How big is Raystown Lake?
A: Raystown Lake, with over 118 miles of shoreline and 8300 acres of water, is the largest lake in Pennsylvania and one of the largest man made lakes east of the Mississippi River.
Q: Is there a minimum stay required for The Lodge?
A: Between the dates of 5/24 - 9/2/2013, we require a 2 night minimum stay on the weekends of Friday and Saturday night. Saturday check-ins or check-outs are not available during our peak season. Prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, we accept reservations of any length.
*3 night minimum stay is required for the holiday weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights). 2013 holiday weekends are 5/24-5/27/2013, 6/28-7/1/2013, and 8/30-9/2/2013.
Q: Is there a minimum stay required for Pine Cabins, Appalachian Cabins in Maple or the Oak Park Cottages?
A: Between the dates of 5/24 - 9/2/2013, Pine Cabins, Appalachian Cabins and Oak Park Cottage rentals must be either a 2 night weekend stay (Friday - Sunday) or a 5 night weekday stay (Sunday - Friday) or a 7 night stay (Friday - Friday or Sunday - Sunday).
Prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, we accept reservations of any length.
A 3 night stay of Friday - Monday is required for all holiday weekends. 2013 holiday weekends are 5/24-5/27/2013, 6/28-7/1/2013, and 8/30-9/2/2013.
Q: Is there a minimum stay required for Beachfront Bungalow rentals?
A: Between the dates of 5/24 - 9/2/2013, Beachfront Bungalows require a 7 night stay of Saturday - Saturday.
Prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, we accept reservations of any length.
Q: Is there a minimum stay required for Waterfront or Lakeside Villa rentals?
A: Between the dates of 5/24 - 9/2/2013, Waterfront and Lakeside Villa rentals must be either a 3 night weekend stay (Friday - Monday) or a 4 night weekday stay (Monday- Friday) or a 7 night stay (Friday - Friday or Monday - Monday).
Prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, we accept reservations of any length.
Q: Is there a minimum stay required for Campsite rentals?
A: Between the dates of 5/24 - 9/2/2013, Waterfront, Premium and Super Sites require either a 2 night weekend stay (Friday - Sunday) or a 5 night weekday stay (Sunday - Friday) or a 7 night stay (Friday - Friday or Sunday - Sunday).
All other Campsite types require a 2 night weekend stay (Friday-Sunday). No Saturday check-ins or check-outs are permitted.
Prior to Memorial Day Weekend and after Labor Day Weekend, we accept reservations of any length in all campsites.

Q: Are bed linens included with Rental Units?
A: Pine Cabin and Appalachian Maple Cabin rentals DO NOT include bed linens. Lake Raystown Resort does offer Linen Packages for $30/length of stay in the Pine Cabins and for $40/length of stay in the Appalachian Cabins. We are happy to provide this service with advance notice of no less than 7 days. Guests can always bring their own bed linens for no additional fee.
Oak Park Cottages, Beachfront Bungalows, Waterfront and Lakeside Villas include all bed linens.
Q: Can I bring my boat? Is there a fee?
A: All registered overnight guests are permitted to bring their boats. Boats can be moored to the shoreline on a first-come-first-served basis - free of charge. Boats can also be stored on their trailers (free of charge) in any of our overflow parking lots.
Overnight boat slips at our Marina are available for $35/night. Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made through our Marina Services Department.
Weddings FAQs
Q: Do you offer site tours?
A: Yes, we encourage potential clients to see all that we have to offer. We can meet all of your needs from a memorable wedding to a high tech business meeting.
Q: What food services do you provide?
A: We have 2 full service kitchens and offer a multitude of dining options. Choices can include elegant served dinners, elaborate buffets, or action stations where our chefs prepare items to order.
Q: Can you handle special food requests to accommodate any allegen or dietary needs?
A: Since everything is prepared in our full service kitchen we can handle many requests. We strive to meet the needs of our guests and have accommodated many requests such as vegetarian, vegan, Kosher, Gluten Free and other special meals. However, our food products may contain or come into contact with known food allergens. Please advise our Event Staff if you or any of your guests have food allergies or dietary needs - we can work with you.
Q: Is it possible to set up for our event early?
A: Possibly, it depends on availability of the event space. Call to inquire about details and specific dates.
Q: What are the Conference Center’s music capabilities?
A: Our in-house audio system is perfect for playing background music throughout the Conference Center. We can provide a Vendor List of DJs that we recommend. We can work with DJs, bands, quartets, pianists and more. Outside venues can also accommodate DJs and Bands.
Q: Does the Resort offer a venue to have a wedding ceremony?
A: Yes. Couples can choose 1 of 5 options. They are listed below in order of popularity:
1. Our Wedding Gazebo is surrounded by Raystown Lake on 3 sides and has the backdrop of the Allegheny Mountains.
2. The Tree Tops Terrace is a wonderful peaceful location that is located outside at the Conference Center. It is convenient for Couples that choose the Conference Center as their Event Venue.
3. The Marina Tent a large white top tent that is centrally located by the Marina Cafe.
4. Our Picnic Pavilions offer a more casual and secluded wooded atmosphere that also has enough space for catered meals, dancing, volleyball, horsehoes, campfires and much more!
5. Our River Birch Ballroom inside of the Conference Center is also an ideal setting for your ceremony.
Q: What the different venues for a wedding reception?
A: There are 6 different locations within The Resort for a wedding reception. They are:
1. The River Birch Ballroom - this location is the most poplar venue. Its a large event space with 1 wall of glass windows that are 25 feet tall. It also has beautiful vaulted ceilings and is designed to host a reception for approximately 300 guests. It can also be separated into 2 smaller rooms - each half holding up to about 120 guests.
2. Picnic Pavilions are a nice option for Couples looking for a more rustic outdoor venue.
3. The Marina Tent is an outdoor venue that features a white clear span tent. This venue is centrally located by the Marina Cafe and can host either a casual or upscale event.
4. The Proud Mary Showboat can host smaller wedding receptions. Its truly a unique experience!
5. The Garden Room is a private banquet room that is connected to the Marina Cafe. It can host events up to 60 guests.
6. The Blue Spruce Room is located across the Lower Lobby from The River Birch Ballroom. This room is best suited for events that include about 60 guests.
Q: What is included in Event Space Rental at the Conference Center
A: Event space rental includes tables, chairs, table linens, dance floor, votive candles, mirrored underliners, table numbers and table stantions, and the use of 2 plasma television screens for a personalized slide show of the bride & groom.
Q: What is required to reserve Event Space?
A: A signed contract and a deposit will reserve your space. The initial deposit for The River Birch Ballroom at the Conference Center is generally $750. 8 months prior to your event - an additional deposit of $500 is due. Other venue locations will generally be less.
Q: Audio & Visual Capabilities?
A: Our Conference Center has state-of-the-art Audio Visual capabilities which include LCD projectors, plasma television screens, hard wired microphones, wireless microphones, wireless lavalieres, and podiums. We strongly encourage hiring a DJ for weddings. The use of our 2 plasma television screens is complimentary - but slide shows can be shown in our River Birch Ballroom - additional fees would apply.
